KAYAKING TOUR IN RIO Kayaking is the use of a kayak for moving through the water. A kayak is normally defined as a boat where the paddler faces forward, legs in front, using a twin-blade paddle. Most kayaks have closed decks (the ones we use), but recently, “sit-on-top” kayaks are becoming very popular as well. There are also the inflatable kayaks, which come without decks but  have air chambers surrounding the boat (called ducks). According to wind and sea conditions, we can take you around the bay area, near the fortresses of Laje and São João and even stretch it a little to the other side of the bay, in Niterói city, by Santa Cruz fortress, when weather allows it. Outside the bay area we can visit Ilha da Cotunduba, Leme and Copacabana, but only in rare conditions, when the waters are really calm, and wind is blowing in a favorable direction. The chosen route will always be decided by the guide in charge, who has the experience and knowledge to understand how the wind and sea behaves. It is quite a unique tour , that gives you a different perspective of our city.  TOUR DURATION: Around 3 hours round trip.  INCLUDED: Guiding services  and equipment rentals.  DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Easy to moderate. Travelers need to be physically fit as the use of the arms will be necessary to move around the water. MEETING TIMES: Daily under request, between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.
