Taranui is Maritime Safety Authority surveyed for 25 day passengers. Taranui is an 11 metre, semi-displacement, power catamaran. This hull type gives a soft and stable ride. All aluminium construction, Taranui was commissioned by Rod and built by Murray Newman of West Coast Boats in Raglan. She has twin 200 hp Volvo engines - spinning 22 inch Tiger props on shafts, and carries 800 Liters of diesel and 300 Liters of fresh water. After boarding your boat at Stephens Bay, we cruise around the headland to Split Apple Rock, taking our time to enable you to get the best views and photo's. Here you may see several shags drying their wings above the warm rocks after their early morning fishing. Our cruise itinerary is flexible, and your friendly, knowledgeable skipper will ensure you are able to learn about the Abel Tasman. If there is something to see on your day trip, like dolphins riding the bow wave or New Zealand fur seals fishing, then we'll go and take a look. Similarly if there's an Abel Tasman National Park feature you want to see, then please do let the skipper know and s/he'll try to accommodate your wishes. Cancellation Policy: - If we cancel your trip for any reason, including mechanical problems or unsafe sea conditions, we will give you a full refund or rebook you for another day, if space is available, at no extra cost. - If you cancel up to 16 hours before sailing we will refund your fare less 25% or change the booking to another day, if space is available, at no extra cost. - If you cancel within 16 hours of departure a $75 NZD per person cancellation fee applies. - No show - no refund.
